In 1999 Willem Charles spoke to the leaders in the village of Gramothe, “I’m going to build a church and a school here.” Within a year, he had raised $7000 and completed construction of 2 small buildings which served as the church and school. Since then, the school has grown astronomically and correspondingly, the church has flourished.

Two Christian families partnered with MTM to help launch the church. The little 20x20 building housed a newborn church which sprang to life immediately. It was nearly full from the beginning with over a hundred in attendance. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was taught where it had never been taught before.

Willem Charles has led the church and been training people and watching their spiritual growth. After several years of effort, the church has over 500 in attendance. The church body is lead by a team of 8 deacons and has a number of programs running. In addition to Sunday morning worship services the church has and Sunday school classes which emphasize Bible memorization and every evening there is a church function designed for growth and spiritual development.

• Monday night discipleship training takes place.
• Tuesday night is prayer meeting as a group in individual homes.
• Wednesday night is mid-week services in which the whole church gathers for worship and further study of God’s word.
• Thursday night the church is filled with worship as the choir practices. Friday night is a scheduled Bible study at the church.
• Saturday afternoon the youth group meets and Saturday evening the men's group meets. These groups focus on Bible study, prayer, fellowship and encouraging one another.
• The women also meet on occasion to fellowship and perform various community projects or work in the church.
• In addition there is a music ministry with a talented worship team an adult choir a strong men's choir and a growing children’s choir.

The church's greatest needs right now are unique to this type of church.

Prayer! Nearly all of the church members are 1st generation Christians & only have come to a relationship w/Christ within the last 9 years.

People are growing, but still need teaching of the scriptures. Many are illiterate, but obviously driven by the Holy Spirit!

 We are praying for a full time pastor to continue to shepherd over them, to disciple them & to lead them to grow others into their faith, to be a witness & to win other souls to Christ to further His Kingdom here on earth! Additional help in this area will allow Willem Charles to do the broader work of building Mountain Top Ministries and impacting thousands of lives for Christ.
